Atrium Palace Condominium Complex Upgrades Lighting System Energy Cost Savings of More Than 24 Percent Expected
Goal:
Upgrade a multi-level parking garage and stair tower lighting system at Atrium Palace condominium complex in Fort Lee, N.J., to more energy-efficient technology to offset increasing electric rates. Other goals include improving safety and lighting quality while reducing maintenance costs.

Replaced outdated eight-foot fluorescent strip fixtures with more energy-efficient fixtures that utilized high color rendering, high lumen lamps, electronic ballasts and an internal reflector assembly in vapor-proof fiberglass housing, causing:
Caused energy cost savings of more than $8,700 the first year, with an overall energy reduction of morefthan 24 percent.
Provided more uniform illumination, increased light levels and a heightened sense of safety for
building residents.
Helped Atrium Palace receive an upfront rebate of more than $18,000 from the New Jersey Clean Energy Program.
