Leverage performance rebates and load reduction incentives

Utilities offer rebates to building owners who upgrade to energy-efficient technologies, as well as peak load management financial incentives which recognize the value to the electric grid of reduced energy demand.

Utility rebate sourcing and procurement

Provided by utilities to encourage reduced energy consumption, utility rebate programs are a significant funding source that can help offset the cost of installation while also triggering lower utility bills. These programs may include cash rebates, direct assistance and low-interest loans. By interfacing with utilities on rebates, PES is able to achieve a return on investment in six months for some clients.

Base load control/Peak demand curtailment

PES can implement base load reduction systems, as well as curtailment programs which reduce energy consumption during peak demand periods when electricity prices are highest. These energy management strategies result in lower utility rates and reduced costs for the customer.

Demand response

Through its membership in PJM Interconnection, the largest independent system operator for the nation’s electric grid, PES can integrate load reduction systems with a facility’s existing equipment to reduce electrical loads during peak demand periods. The facility owner then can sell back the power they don’t use and receive a payment based on the total value of energy generation costs avoided by the utility through load reduction.

Reliability of electricity

Transmission lines are controlled by an Independent System Operator (ISO) that manages the flow of electricity through the grid for your region. PJM is one of several multi-state ISOs that Public Energy Solutions participates with, including the New York ISO, New England ISO and California ISO.
